Putin expressed his readiness to meet Trump
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his readiness to meet his US counterpart Donald Trump on Friday.
Putin said in a statement that any possible meeting with Trump should focus on the current realities of the situation.
“Energy issues are important issues for possible negotiations between Russia and the United States,” he said, noting that there are potential cooperation between Russia and the United States, especially in economic matters.
The Russian president said that Trump imposed many sanctions against Russia in his first presidency, but Biden continued the path and exacerbated restrictions.
He said he doubts that Trump makes decisions to harm the US economy.
Putin further emphasized that he agreed with Trump that he would have been able to prevent the Ukrainian crisis from happening again in the 2020 US presidential election.
Referring to the clashes in Ukraine, he said: “Walodimir Zelnski has forbidden himself from negotiation. “The supporters of the Kiev regime must push Zelnsky to prevent negotiations from being prevented.”
