Iraq: Respecting the free will of all Syrians is essential – Mehr news agency RCO News Agency

According to RCO News Agency, citing Waa, the Iraqi government reacted to the developments in Syria by issuing a statement.

The Iraqi government announced in this statement: We emphasize the necessity of respecting the free will of all Syrian people. Syria’s security, territorial integrity and maintaining its independence is not only very important for Iraq, but also because of its connection with the security and stability of the region.

In the continuation of this statement, it is stated: We support all the international and regional efforts that are being made to open a comprehensive dialogue between all the spectrums and sides of Syria based on the requirements of the interests of our friendly nation, Syria; Efforts that will lead to the approval of the multifaceted constitution that protects the human rights and citizenship of the Syrian people and protects the cultural, ethnic and religious diversity of the beloved Syrian nation.

Also, the Iraqi government stressed the importance of not interfering in Syria’s internal affairs or supporting one side against another, and considered the intervention to be the cause of more conflict and division in Syria.
