German publication: Contrary to Ukraine’s claims, Russia targeted an important military institution
In a report, a German publication, while denying the claim of the Kiev authorities regarding the targeting of a hospital in the recent Russian attack, emphasized that the targeted area was a “military institution”.
According to Isna, in the past few days, Russia announced one of its deadliest and most effective strikes against the Ukrainian army forces since the beginning of the country’s war until now by attacking an army training center in the center of the country.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that dozens of forces affiliated with the Ukrainian army were killed in an educational and hospital building in the city of “Poltava” following one of the most accurate attacks by the Russian military since the beginning of the war in Ukraine in February 2022.
In a statement published by the Ministry of Defense of Russia, it was stated that the Russian army launched an attack on a training center of the Ukrainian army in the city of Poltava in the center of the country with Iskander ballistic missiles on Tuesday morning, and all the goals of this attack have been achieved.
Russian media, including “Sputnik” News agency, quoted officials and reported that foreign military instructors were also active in this training center of the Ukrainian army.
However, following Russia’s successful airstrike on the training center, the Kiev regime officials claimed that the center was a hospital and that all those killed were civilians.
This claim was met with widespread criticism from Western countries and staunch allies of Ukraine against Russia under the title of “killing civilians”.
But after a wider investigation, the German newspaper “Bild”, in a report quoting its field reporters, wrote today: “In one of the deadliest Russian attacks since the beginning of the war, on Tuesday at least 53 soldiers were killed in the city of Poltava and around 300 people were wounded. “
This publication emphasized in its report: “The target of the Russian missiles was the Ukrainian Military Communications Institute, a place of training for combat communications specialists. The troops of this country were sent to this school from all over Ukraine. “At first, the Ukrainian authorities announced that a hospital was targeted, but our reporters (Bild) did not confirm this claim.”
Russia’s success in attacking the school, which is easily found by searching Wikipedia through the Russian search engine, has fueled widespread criticism of the Ukrainian government.
On the other hand, the number of dead is expected to increase. In this regard, a 26-year-old Ukrainian soldier, whose identity has not been revealed, and who was present at this school during the Russian missile attack, told Bild: “This institution did not have proper air defense, two missiles hit the school premises, if it had been slower it would have escaped.” If I did, I would definitely be killed. Probably, the number of dead will increase.”
According to this soldier, it would have been better to avoid many casualties and injuries with air defense. “We are facing a lack of air defense in this area,” he told Bild.
In the days after the Russian missile attack, the Russian news agency “Tass” quoted a military source and wrote that more than 300 Ukrainian military personnel, including foreign military instructors, were killed or wounded in a missile attack on a training center in Poltava. Some Ukrainian Telegram channels mentioned the number of casualties in this attack as around 190 people and wrote that it was carried out by firing 2 missiles of “Iskander-M” model.
An informed source told TASS: “The nature of the destruction shows that a missile hit between the third and fourth floors and its explosion caused the roof of the fourth and fifth floors to collapse, but the roof of the building did not collapse. The second rocket hit the roof of the building from above and caused the roof of the fifth, fourth and third floors to collapse.
Kyiv officials said at the time that 49 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 219 others were wounded in this Russian attack, but Ukrainian sources in the field say that the casualties are more than 190 soldiers.
Some sources have also reported that the “Swedish military trainers” of the Ukrainian army were killed in the Russian attack in Poltava.
On the other hand, in addition to the field crisis, after the resignation and dismissal of at least 6 ministers, Ukraine has also faced a political crisis. However, in this situation, the president of Ukraine has introduced “energy injection” to the government as the reason for the removal and new installations.
However, Zelensky’s statements have met with the anger of some European diplomats. As well-known figures of the opposition in the Ukrainian parliament accuse Zelensky of appointing a circle of close friends and supporters of his positions in the government to consolidate the power of his office. However, some Ukrainian legislators reject this issue and, for example, point to the appointment of Umerov, who is not from the ruling party. But a White House official, who asked not to be named, said, referring to the changes and developments in the Ukrainian government, “there may be reasons for this concern.”
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kulba has submitted his resignation, the speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament said on Wednesday. Finally, earlier today (Thursday), the Ukrainian parliament accepted the resignation of Kolba, one of the most prominent figures among Ukrainian officials, and approved his successor, Andriy Sibiga, as the new foreign minister. Also, the parliament of Ukraine has agreed to the resignation of 2 deputy prime ministers and several ministers in the last 2 days.
