Technology specialist TomTom announced on Tuesday that the company will develop a productive artificial intelligence assistant for the automotive industry in cooperation with Microsoft. Using Microsoft's advances in artificial intelligence, the company is going to develop an advanced artificial intelligence assistant with the ability to connect to the car's entertainment and steering systems, location search and more sophisticated voice interaction than previous examples. Using this smart assistant, drivers can talk to their car's control system and ask the AI assistant to direct the car to a specific point, find specific stops along the route, adjust the interior temperature, open the windows. change radio stations and generally do all that is expected of a professional assistant.
This voice assistant will be embedded in the TomTom digital cabin, which is an open and modular in-car infotainment platform that integrates Microsoft Azure OpenAI service with Azure Kubernetes, Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Cognitive Services to provide more features and capabilities.
Chief Financial Officer of TomTom, Mike Schoofs, says: “The common vision of our group and Microsoft is to provide better solutions to our customers by innovating in the field of productive artificial intelligence. “Using our navigation expertise and technology, we're creating a new way for people to interact with their vehicle, giving drivers the ability to ask and trust their assistant.”
