Anthropic chats were equipped with research tools; Connect and access to Gmail

Anthropic company unveiled two new and key features for its smart assistant, Claude. These include: advanced research tools and access to Google Workspace services including Gmail.

According to recent reports, these four capabilities convert Claude into a real assistant in the workplace that can collect information from different sources and provide the user with.

Hence, Claude can be connected directly to Gmail, Google Calendar and Documents; That is, you no longer have to spend your time searching for emails, appointments or files. Claude can find sessions notes instead, extract the information from emails, and even look for the data needed in various documents. This feature has brought Claude into serious competition with tools like Microsoft Copyott.

Another feature is Research, which, according to anthropic, transforms the search and analysis of information in Claude. Unlike the usual searches that are done only once, Claude acts as “agentic”; That is, a user question begins a set of targeted and targeted chain searches continuously and relevant to the best answer. The good thing is that the results are displayed with referral so that you can check the accuracy of the information.

Scott White, anthropic product manager, says the capability is designed to provide accurate and useful response within one to five minutes without disrupting your work process. Currently, this tool is active in the US, Japan and Brazil for users of Max, Team and Enterprise.

Connecting with Google Workspace is also a beta for all money users, but managers must first activate this access at the company level. Also, the “Google Drive catalog” feature is available for corporate users, which uses RAG techniques to make the search smarter.

The anthropic emphasized the privacy of Claude only accesss documents that allow the user itself. According to the company, this is just the beginning and will soon be introduced to improve the experience of working with Claude.
