Summoning the Italian ambassador to the Iranian Foreign Ministry
The Italian ambassador in Tehran was summoned to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in protest of the continued illegal detention of Iranian citizens.
According to RCO News Agency, due to the continued detention of Iranian citizen Mohammad Abedini by Italy, Ms. Paula Amadei, the Italian ambassador in Tehran, was summoned on Friday, January 14, 1403 by Majid Nili Ahmadabadi, the director general of Western Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During this summons, the Director General of Western Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the arrest of Mohammad Abedini is an illegal act that was carried out at the request of the US government and in line with the proven political and hostile goals of this country to take hostages of Iranian nationals in all corners of the world by imposing executions. The domestic laws of this country are extraterritorial, and this not only harms the long-standing relations between Iran and Italy, but also contradicts the principles and standards of international law, including the rules of law. Humanity has been and can be considered a form of arbitrary detention.
The Director General of Western Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran asked Italy to reject America’s hostage policy – which is against international law, especially human rights – to provide the necessary ground for the release of Mohammad Abedini as soon as possible and prevent damage to bilateral relations in the region. become America
The Italian ambassador stated that he will reflect the situation to the foreign ministry of this country in Rome.
