A foreign photographer has recorded a historical photo of the famous throne of Iranian kings.
“Luigi Pesha”, an Italian photographer who traveled to Iran during the period of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar, has left an album of valuable images from that period.
In this historical photo, the Peacock Throne, the famous throne of kings in Golestan Palace, can be seen.
The Qajar Peacock Throne is one of Iran’s jeweled thrones, which was built by Isfahani jewelers in 1216 AH by the order of Fath Ali Shah Qajar and under the supervision of Haj Mohammad Hossein Khan Sadr Isfahani, known as Nizam al-Dawlah, the ruler of Isfahan. The construction of the throne took one year and Fath Ali Shah sat on it in Nowruz 1181. This bed was named the sun bed because of the sign of the sun on top of it. Takht Khurshid became known as Takht Tavus since 1224 AH when Fath Ali Shah married Tavus Taj al-Dawlah, who was 15 years old, after Fath Ali Shah’s wife, who was very pleased with him.
