Peugeot 208 facelift model 2024 was displayed. The new Peugeot 208 French hatchback benefits from updates in design and cabin features.
In 2022, the Peugeot 208 was able to take over the title of the best-selling car in Europe and end the Volkswagen Golf’s long-standing record in this region. Now, Peugeot has unveiled the 2024 hatchback 208, which aims to continue its dominance on the European market with changes in design. This hatchback will be available in two gasoline-burning and all-electric versions (E-208) next November (November to December), both of which have benefited from changes in the exterior and interior. However, at this point, images of the E-208 version have been shared.
Introducing Peugeot 208 hatchback model 2024
Exterior design
In the design of the exterior of the Peugeot 208, elements can be seen that were used before in the Peugeot 2008 facelift. Of course, the new face of Peugeot cars was displayed even earlier by the 9X8 hypercar, and after that, it was first used in the 508 sedan and station wagon version.
Now, in the exterior of the Peugeot 208 facelift, the grille has a different pattern than before and has been integrated into the bumper through elements of the same color as the body. In addition, instead of the previous Peugeot logo, the new lion emblem of this French automaker is located in the center of the front grille. Under the front lights with an aggressive look, you can see the three vertical lights specific to Peugeot products, which resemble the claw effect. Previously, the 208 had just a vertical light strip under the headlights.
The panels around the fenders, the side mirrors and the black columns and the raised door handles are some of the elements of the side view. The 2024 Peugeot 208 also rides on 16-inch and 17-inch two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, in the center of which an X-shaped bolt cover with the Peugeot logo can be seen. In the rear view of this French hatchback, the lights are connected to each other with a simple graphic of three horizontal lines through a thick black strip, and the shark wing antenna and black roof spoiler are other obvious features of this area.
Cabin design and features
The facelift version of the 2024 Peugeot 208 has no major differences with the previous version in terms of the cabin. Of course, it should not be overlooked that the previous version had a well-equipped and updated cabin. This makes Peugeot’s decision not to make a big change seem logical.
In the middle of the dashboard of all trims of this French hatchback, a 10-inch display for information and entertainment system fits as standard. Behind the steering wheel, a screen of the same size as the digital amp screen will be available to the driver. This digital amp screen in the GT trim also supports 3D effects, and in the low-end Active trim, a small 3.5-inch screen with two round screens on both sides is installed instead.
A new logo on the steering wheel, new gear knob for the 6-speed manual versions, new ambient lighting, black Alcantara upholstery with green stitching for the GT trim are some of the other updates in the cabin of the 2024 Peugeot 208 facelift. Even more USB ports are provided inside; More precisely, the Allure and GT trims are equipped with 3 USB-C ports and 1 USB-A port as standard. The charging plate with a power of 5 to 15 watts will be available as standard for the GT trim and as an option for the Allure trim.
Technical specifications of Peugeot 208 facelift model 204
The base engine of the 2024 Peugeot 208 model will be a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder model with an output of 75 horsepower. The driving force of this 75 horsepower engine is transferred to the front axle by means of a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 100-horsepower version of this engine is also available, and a 6-speed manual gearbox is intended to transmit its power. The hatchback also comes with a mild hybrid powertrain mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that outputs either 100 or 136 horsepower.
Apart from the internal combustion version of the new Peugeot 208, the electric version of the E-208 is powered by a 156 horsepower electric motor. A 51 kWh battery provides energy for this engine, and this French hatchback should be able to travel 400 kilometers on a single charge. Charging this battery with a power of 3.2 kW from 20 to 80 percent takes 11 hours and 10 minutes, and with a power of 7.4 kW, this time is reduced to 4 hours and 40 minutes. However, it is possible to charge this battery from 20 to 80 percent in less than 25 minutes with a power of 100 kW.
