Samsung’s Quick Share feature allows users to easily share files between devices. We will get to know this feature later.
Samsung has considered a special feature for its Galaxy devices so that users can transfer files between devices without spending a lot of time and energy. Quick Share technology was introduced by Samsung in 2020 to enable easy transfer of photos, videos and various files with other devices ranging from smartphones to laptops. In the following, we will get acquainted with this feature.
Tricks of Samsung’s Quick Share feature
Share files without losing quality
To transfer all the photos without having to send them in a messaging app or e-mail and re-download them, Samsung has considered the Quick Share feature so that all of them can be easily transferred to the desired device within a few seconds.
In fact, users are able to send images to nearby Galaxy devices quickly and with just a few taps, regardless of the number and size of the files. Also, by connecting to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, you can send files to up to 8 people at the same time.
The process of sending and receiving files using the Quick Share feature is very easy, and to do this, you must do the following steps in order:
- Select the desired file, photo or video
- Tap on the Share option
- Select the Quick Share option from the opened menu
- In this section, you can see the list of Galaxy devices available for subscription
- Now the desired person will be able to receive the files by selecting the accept option.
Those Galaxy devices that are able to receive files will be displayed in a list according to the user’s pre-set sharing preferences. When the other Galaxy device accepts the file transfer process, the file will be instantly transferred to that person’s device. Users can view the shared files by referring to the Quick Share folder that is created in the Gallery app.
Non-Galaxy users should also transfer the desired file to the desired device using one of the options of copy link, share in the program, and share using the QR code when using Samsung’s Quick Share feature.
When a user chooses to share via QR code, the recipient can simply copy or scan the code and instantly receive the file on their smartphone or other device. In addition, files uploaded to Samsung Cloud can also be shared with others.
If users choose to share in an app, the link can be sent via a text message and files can be shared with multiple people at the same time. This will also compress and send the original high quality photos and videos.
It should be noted that the files uploaded to Samsung Cloud will be automatically deleted after a certain period to improve the security and convenience of users.
Sharing on tablets and laptops
The Quick Share feature will be available on all Galaxy devices that use this feature. The fast transfer feature makes it possible to transfer files between smartphones, Galaxy tablets and Galaxy Books.
Sharing files between different types of Galaxy devices will also be very easy. To transfer files from a Galaxy smartphone to a Galaxy Book, users must enable Quick Share on both devices before transferring files.
Increase sharing security with Private Share
Samsung’s Private Share feature will increase the safety of files when transferring files containing important personal or financial information. In the Quick Share feature, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections are used to transfer files, but Private Share uses the feature of file encryption with blockchain.
In fact, users are able to transfer all their files, including photos, videos, audio and documents, to another device with maximum security through Private Share. This feature provides conditions for transferring 20 files up to 200 MB using phone number and identification number to a specified recipient.
The Private Share feature allows users to control the recipient’s access permission and the file’s expiration date. In fact, before sharing, you can determine the duration of viewing a file and how the recipient will use the files. The ability to manage settings and cancel sharing permissions even after files are sent are other important features of this feature.
With Private Share, users can revoke access to shared files even after they’ve been sent. In addition, this feature prevents recipients from taking screenshots of past shared files and takes care of them.
It is also possible for the sender to find out if the recipient has received the files or not, and also the time of opening the files will be visible. In order to keep the files confidential, it will not be possible to download secure files or take a screenshot of them.
In addition to Quick Share and Private Share, Galaxy users can use other file sharing methods such as Dropship and Nearby Share, which will allow them to send any content.
