The latest version of OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15 has been updated and is now available for the OnePlus 11 phone. After rolling out this update for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open devices, this new version now brings numerous features and customization options to the brand’s 2023 flagship.
According to Tekna technology news media service, this update is indeed a big step for OnePlus and shows the brand’s commitment to fast updates and the use of advanced technologies. With OxygenOS 15, the OnePlus 11 gets access to new features such as artificial intelligence tools, smoother animations, and always-on display (AOD) with more options.
Currently, the said update has been rolled out as Final Candidate (RC) version in India. This version provides users with a preview of what is to be released in the stable version. OxygenOS 15 introduces a host of new features for the OnePlus 11 with a special focus on AI-powered tools. Among these features, the following can be mentioned:
- AI Retouch: This feature makes blurry images clearer and provides more details to the user.
- AI Reflection Eraser: Removes unwanted reflections in photos and improves their quality.
- AI Writing Suite: Similar to Apple’s artificial intelligence writing tools, this suite helps improve text written on the device.
- Circle to Search: This new productivity feature allows users to search for items faster on their device.
In addition, the new update introduces a new animation engine for smoother touch interactions, as well as more options for personalizing the always-on display (AOD).
Currently, this 3.59 GB update is rolling out in stages in India and has been released as a final candidate. Depending on user feedback, OnePlus may release another RC version or expand this update to more regions and devices.
For users who are not waiting for the public release of this update, there is also the option of manually installing the RC version.
This year, OnePlus has managed to surpass its competitors in releasing fast Android 15 updates. The brand started rolling out the update from OnePlus 12 and will soon update other devices like OnePlus Open and OnePlus Pad 2.
On the other hand, Samsung, which is developing One UI 7 based on Android 15, has only released the beta version of this operating system for the Galaxy S24 series. Stable versions of this update will most likely be released alongside the Galaxy S25 series.
With the launch of OxygenOS 15 for OnePlus 11, users of the device will get an improved experience with AI tools, smoother animations and more customization options. Also, given OnePlus’ commitment to provide 5 years of software updates for the OnePlus 11, users can expect more updates until 2028.
