Apparently, the Voyager 1 spacecraft is so old that it can no longer transmit scientific data to Earth and only sends strange messages. Maybe this is the work of extraterrestrials!
Voyager 1 was the first spacecraft to pass through the surface of the Sun's heliosphere, and now, after 46 years, it is declining like an old man. NASA says that problems have arisen in the flight data system (FDS) of this old spacecraft, so that its communication with the earth will be difficult, and instead of sending scientific data, it is now transmitting meaningless data including zeros and ones.
This spacecraft is now more than 24 billion kilometers from Earth, which means it is 11 times farther from us than the Sun. In addition, the technology of this spacecraft goes back to half a century ago. For this reason, the operation to solve the problem will be time-consuming and may remain fruitless.
In September 1977, NASA launched the Voyager 1 spacecraft, which then set a course for the outer reaches of the Solar System. It was dubbed the world's first spacecraft that successfully crossed the heliosphere and gave mankind a research representative among the stars. But it seems that the time has come to retire this ship.
NASA may never be able to solve the Voyager 1 problem
Since last week, NASA is still working on the flight data system of this ship, but instead of scientific information, it still sends strange and meaningless messages to NASA. The United States Space Agency has announced in a statement that solving the problems related to the spacecraft's system requires studying the documents of the last few decades. Therefore, we may be a few weeks away from sending a new command and saving the Voyager 1 spaceship.
Of course, NASA had predicted these days. In fact, in the most optimistic possible state, they predicted communication with Voyager by 2025. But at the same time, the engineers of this organization hoped to be able to send their messages to this spacecraft with the help of the Deep Space Network (DNS) in the next decade.
