Irancell’s optical fiber reached Central Province. The executive operation of Irancell’s optical fiber network for homes and businesses started in this province by signing a memorandum of understanding with the municipality of Arak.
Yesterday afternoon, Thursday, November 18, 1402, a meeting was held to implement the optical fiber project between Irancell, as the first and largest digital operator in Iran, and the municipality of Arak, so that Irancell’s optical fiber reaches Central Province. In this meeting, which was held at the Central Governorate, Mr. Issa Zarepour (Minister of Communications and Information Technology), Amir Mohammadzadeh Lajordi (Deputy Minister and Head of Radio Communications Regulatory Organization), Reza Bagheri Asal (Deputy Minister of Government Affairs, Parliament and Provinces of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology), Farzad Mukhles Al-Aimah (Central Governor), Ali Akbar Karimi (Representative of the Arak People in the Islamic Council), Waliullah Bayati (Representative of the Tafarsh People in the Islamic Council), Mojtabi Ghasemi (Head of the Arak Municipality), Mohammad Nowrozi ( Director General of the Office of Coordination and Provincial Affairs of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology), Farhang Sefalian (Director General of Communications and Information Technology of the Central Province), Bijan Abbasi Arend (CEO of Irancell) and also a number of provincial and regional managers were present.
Dr. Bijan Abbasi Arend, CEO of Irancell Company, in a conversation he had with the Minister of Communications, pointed out the fiber optic development projects of homes and businesses by this company in different cities of Iran and added that with the signing of this memorandum between Irancell and Arak Municipality, the fiber optic project It has started in Central Province and until the completion of this project, 165 thousand subscribers will benefit from Irancell’s fiber optic services for homes and businesses.
Issa Zarepour, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, also stated that the country needs a high-speed network and, except for optical fiber, no technology can provide such high speeds. Optical fiber for homes and businesses is one of the most important projects in the 13th government, and according to the targets, 20 million households are supposed to be covered by optical fiber. He further added that the implementation of the FTTH project in Khomein city requires city coordination and if the Khomein city management makes the necessary cooperation with Irancell, this project will be operated in Khomein until the Fajr decade.
On the last day, Irancell’s fiber optic project was launched during a live video connection with the city of Khomein, with the presence of engineer Hamid Kamankesh, the governor of Khomein city. According to this project, Irancell, as the first and largest digital operator of Irancell, started the executive operation of fiber optic drilling of homes and businesses with an executive length of 35 kilometers for the first time in Khomein city.
About Irancell optical fiber project
It was on May 27, 1402 that during a ceremony attended by the president, Irancell’s new high-speed fixed internet service based on optical fiber was officially opened. The fiber optic internet service known as “Fiber to Homes and Businesses (FTTx)” service was put into operation in this ceremony as part of the National Fiber Optic Homes and Businesses Plan, and Babol city in Mazandaran province was the first city where this service was provided by Irancell. He started working there. On the 22nd of October, the memorandum of understanding for the development of optical fiber access in Shiraz was signed with the cooperation of Shiraz Municipality, as well as the contract for issuing the drilling permit for the optical fiber project of Sadra city with the cooperation of Sadra Municipality in the presence of the Minister of Communications.
On the 9th of November, with a ceremony, the executive operation of Irancell’s fiber optic project in Tabriz city with the participation of Irancell and the municipality of this city started. In August of this year, Irancell was able to receive the Unified License Agreement for Network and Communication Services (UNSP) from the Minister of Communications and Information Technology. Irancell, which has previously been able to provide various communication and digital services, including 2nd generation (2G), 3rd generation, 4th and 4.5th generation (4G/LTE-A) and 5th generation (5G) mobile networks, as well as fixed high-speed internet services to provide wireless (TD-LTE and WiMAX) to its subscribers, by receiving this license, it was officially added to the group of companies providing fixed communication services based on optical fiber (FTTx) and other communication services subject to the above resolution.
