Last week, Apple released the beta version of iOS 18.2. Its important features include the integration of Siri with ChatGPT and artificial intelligence tools Image Playground and Genmoji. Apple now says access to Apple Intelligence’s image generation tools will be available in the coming weeks, and users are on a waiting list.
According to the AppleInsider report, despite the release of the first beta version of iOS 18.2 for developers, access to its new graphics and image generation tools will be limited. “You’ll be notified when Image Playground, Genmoji, and Image Wand are ready for testing,” Apple said in a note to developers.
Waiting list of iOS 18.2 beta version of artificial intelligence tools
We have seen the approach of creating a waiting list to test Apple’s artificial intelligence capabilities before in iOS 18.1; Of course, in that case, the access was activated quickly, but this time users have to wait more time. Developers can also say which of Apple’s AI tools they want to try the most. These features are as follows:
- Image Playground application
- Integration of Image Playground with Messages or Freeform application
- Integration of Genmoji in the emoji section of the keyboard
- Image Wand in the Apple Pencil section of the Notes app
It seems that iOS 18.2 AI features will be released to the public before the end of 2024. More specifically, the waiting list indicates that public beta versions of iOS 18.2 are unlikely to be released before late November, with the final version expected in December.
Of course, the official iOS 18.1 update, which provides some features of Apple Intelligence, will be released in the last week of October, probably on Monday of this week. In general, Apple has taken a very cautious approach to providing Apple Intelligence capabilities so as not to suffer from the problems that exist in other artificial intelligence models.
