At the CES 2025 event, Intel started a new chapter in the competition of gaming laptop processors by introducing Core Ultra 200HX processors.
These powerful chips, developed on the basis of Lunar Lake architecture, are designed as an upgraded and more powerful version of the Lunar Lake series of laptops. Intel claims that the Core Ultra 200HX processors offer up to 5% improvement in single-core performance and 20% improvement in multi-core performance over its predecessor, the Raptor Lake-H Refresh.
The prominent technical specifications of these processors are:
- Hybrid architecture: Combining powerful and low-power cores to optimize performance in a variety of workloads.
- High frequency: The flagship model Core Ultra 9 285HX with a frequency of up to 5.5 GHz offers stunning performance.
- Powerful integrated graphics: Internal graphics cores for smooth running of games and graphics programs.
- Artificial Intelligence Accelerator: With a processing power of 13 TOPS, these processors are suitable for running applications based on artificial intelligence.
The Core Ultra 200HX series comes in six different models that will replace the Core i5 to Core i9 series. These processors are fully compatible with separate RAM memory and new generation graphics cards and provide users with the possibility of personalizing the system.
However, to take full advantage of advanced AI features like Microsoft’s Copilot Plus, it’s recommended to go for the H and U series or AMD Ryzen AI processors.
All in all, Intel’s Core Ultra 200HX processors are an ideal choice for professional users and gamers looking for the highest level of performance in their laptop.
