Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced today in a news release that the rollout of post editing functionality for Trades started today. Users can use this feature to edit their posts up to five minutes after they are published. However, after five minutes, published posts will be locked and no changes can be made to them.
The ability to edit posts has been released for both the web version and the Trades application. Although this feature is completely free, compared to the similar example in X, it is a little more limited because the duration of the ability to edit posts on the meta platform is less. Threads also doesn’t show a history of edited posts, and only marks them with a marker.
Meta today released another feature called “Audio Threads” for its platform, which allows attaching audio files to posts. This feature was demonstrated by Tom Warren, but it is not yet clear when it will be available to all users.
