Intel has ordered the production of its Arc GPUs from TSMC since 2022, and now it seems that the company plans to increase its orders from the Taiwanese company in the next few years.
Goldman Sachs has reported that Intel wants to hand over its processor production order to TSMC in 2024 and 2025. The amount of this investment is expected to be 5.6 billion dollars in 2024 and 9.7 billion dollars in 2025.
A semiconductor industry analyst has said that the relationship between Intel and TSMC will expand further. In fact, it seems that Intel’s chip designers are very interested in working with the Taiwanese company.
If the Goldman Sachs report is correct, Intel’s orders for 2024 and 2025 are expected to account for 6.4 percent and 9.4 percent of TSMC’s total revenues, respectively. Of course, Intel and TSMC have not yet confirmed or denied this report.
