Waze’s popular map reader announced in a recent update that it would stop Google Assistant for iOS users due to constant problems in integration.
The company plans to provide a better alternative to the “Advanced Audio Integration Solution”, which is likely to be Google’s artificial intelligence model.
“This feature has not been working properly for more than a year, and we decided to delete it instead of temporary repair,” Waze said in a statement.
Reported Problems: iPhone users were experiencing problems such as non -detection of sound after Google’s assistant activation.
Status on Android: This change only includes iOS, and Google’s assistant remains active in the Android version.
Google’s transition to Gemini
Google recently announced that it will gradually move users from Google Assistant to Gemini and the current assistant will be deactivated by most devices by the end of this year.
Waze is testing smart audio reporting with Gemini that allows users to report problems in a conversation.
Many users have criticized the long delay in resolving the problems, but Waze has promised to provide a better and more sustainable alternative.
