Google has announced that it will invest 15 billion dollars to build new data centers in India.
According to CNBC, Google plans to invest 15 billion dollars to build data centers to create a new artificial intelligence center in South India. This news was announced by Thomas Kurian, the CEO of Google Cloud, on Tuesday in an official event. Kurian added that the investment will be made over the next five years and that the center will be Google’s largest AI hub outside the United States.

Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh estimated the value of this one gigawatt project at $10 billion in a statement. In a post on the X social network, he wrote that this agreement is the result of a year of intensive talks and non-stop efforts and is only the beginning.
The Indian newspaper Economic Times previously reported that this investment will be made through Google’s Indian subsidiary called Raiden Infotech. The company plans to set up at least three campuses across the city of Vishakhapatnam.
State officials have announced plans to increase investment in similar projects and significantly increase computing capacity over the next three years.
