Taiwan has successfully completed a new suicide bomber field test, “Overkill” and is ready to buy 6,000 of these drones; UAVs built by modeling the Ukrainian war experiences and use the same artificial intelligence systems to target tanks and enemy ships.
These offensive drones are designed in collaboration with Thunder Tiger and the Taiwan Military Technology Institute (NCSIST) and use AUTERION cameras and systems.
The Overkill UAV is an ammunition that attacks the target directly by directing the operator from the first perspective (FPV) angle (FPV). Taiwan is set to export some of these drones to Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Philippines, India and Indonesia, which seek military technology lacking Chinese parts.
The project is part of Taiwan’s big plan for the development of UAV infrastructure that began three years ago, but is lagging behind in primary targets due to production restrictions. However, the introduction of “Overkill” drones is a sign of Taiwan’s serious progress and defense preparation in the midst of increasing regional tensions.
