Britain and Germany will sign a comprehensive security agreement
The German publication announced the “extensive and important” security agreement between England and Germany.
According to Isna, media sources announced the desire of England to conclude a security agreement with Germany in order to deepen London’s military and security relations with the European Union.
In this regard, the German publication “Focus” reported on Sunday evening that London and Berlin will sign an “important” security agreement.
According to this publication, the agreement envisages joint military exercises on NATO’s eastern border, possibly in Estonia and Lithuania, as well as joint procurement and development of new generation weapons.
British Defense Minister John Haley hopes that this agreement will strengthen the defense industries of both countries.
According to the English publication “Times”, the reason for this issue is that the West is facing increasing pressure to rebuild its army after supporting Ukraine. The agreement is also seen as the first step towards a wider agreement between the UK and the EU on defence, intelligence, energy and the fight against illegal immigration.
The deal with Germany is Britain’s most important bilateral agreement since the 2010 Lancaster-House treaty with France, which strengthened close military cooperation between the two countries. Germany, which increased its defense spending after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, is now the second largest military nation among NATO countries.
British forces based in Estonia will receive new drones, radio systems and advanced technology to improve their combat training as part of Project Asgard.
In this regard, the British Defense Minister emphasized that this will help the soldiers to become more maneuverable and equipped to overcome “bigger enemies”.
Britain will also join Germany, France, Poland and Italy in a new initiative to develop advanced long-range missiles. The range of these missiles will be more than Shadow Storm.
Britain is trying to deepen its military and security relations with the European Union and its allies in NATO while, according to NATO member states, this alliance is preparing for a confrontation against Russia.
Moscow has always denied the West’s claims about its desire to enter the forest against NATO or other European countries.
Nevertheless, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said last Wednesday in Brussels during a joint press conference with Latvian Prime Minister Ovica Silina: “NATO is ready to confront the enemy and any force that intends to attack us.”
According to the Sputnik News agency, the NATO Secretary General made these statements in response to senior officials of the German Foreign Intelligence Service who claimed that “Moscow may attack NATO by 2030” and added: “Currently and in the future we are on the budget “We invest a lot in our military and defense industry.”
In the end, Rutte added: “We will not allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to continue his path in Ukraine.” We need to be sure about the military aid to Kiev and know that Ukraine is in a counter-attack position.
