According to the Mehr News Agency, quoted by the Rianossiti news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated at the meeting of his country’s Security Council regarding nuclear deterrence: We reserve the right to use nuclear weapons in case of aggression against the territory of Russia or Belarus.

Putin said: It was suggested to provide explanations regarding the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons by Russia. He added: Russia has always sought to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons. Moscow may consider using its nuclear weapons after receiving data on the widespread launch of missiles and drones across the border.

Vladimir Putin added: The aggression of a non-nuclear country with the participation of a nuclear country was proposed as a joint attack on Russia. Russia reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in case of aggression against its territory, including if the enemy poses a vital threat using conventional weapons.
