Extension of the call for artificial intelligence and quantum future research

The deadline for sending proposals for the call for studies with the future research approach of artificial intelligence and quantum has been extended.

According to Ecomotive, one of the goals of the National Science Foundation of Iran is to build capacity to advance the frontiers of knowledge at the highest global level to achieve scientific authority.

Since the awareness of the future trends of science and technology is one of the requirements of moving in the frontiers of knowledge, the National Science Foundation of Iran is considering, with the aim of directing future research, research projects focused on examining the future trends of science and technology in the world and in Iran in the form of Call to support.

Artificial intelligence and quantum sciences and technologies are the two priority areas of this call.

Eligible for the call for artificial intelligence and quantum future research

The supporting format of this call will be a research project, and the faculty members of future studies, science and technology policy, technology management, information science and epistemology, scientometrics, information technology (data mining) and related fields are given priority. The presence of specialists and experts related to the field of artificial intelligence and quantum in the composition of the research team is essential.

Expected outputs

From this call, in addition to the report, outputs such as an article with an international profile, a policy report, a lecture meeting for relevant experts, short news reports and a list of future scientific trends that are appropriate to the country’s situation are considered. It should be noted that the policy report should be able to be presented to the upstream and policy-making institutions in the field of science and technology for the purpose of decision-making and policy-making.

The scientific trends identified in the future should also be presented and introduced to the researchers in the form of the foundation’s support, including research projects, chairs, research grants or support for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in the form of declared priorities. At the end, the final reports will be published in the name of the researchers themselves on the website of the National Science Foundation.

Support amount

The maximum amount of support for each of these studies will be 125 million Tomans. The amount of support depends on the type and volume of data under review (articles, patents and experts’ opinions), the number of expert Delphi sessions, the use of quantitative or qualitative or hybrid approaches to identify trends, focus on identifying research trends or technology areas, the number of areas and branches. It should be noted that research projects that simultaneously use different approaches and methods to predict the future trends of research fields will be given priority. Also, approved projects require the submission of progress reports based on timing during the implementation and completion of the project and approval by the supervisor. ; In addition to that, the time frame for conducting research in each of the two priority areas is 9 months.
