Nvidia has officially announced a new partnership with a company called Hippocratic AI, which can apparently provide an alternative to human nurses through artificial intelligence assistants. The cost of using this artificial intelligence nurse is only $9 per hour, while using the services of human nurses costs $90 per hour.
In the published press release, the Hippocratic AI company considered part of the goal of this project to help reduce the problem of lack of manpower in the treatment sector. The company also claims that the AI, which is powered by Nvidia, will not perform diagnostic work and will instead perform low-risk tasks that can be done via video call.

Nvidia has released a video showing what this mechanism will look like in practice. In this video, a person who apparently had an appendectomy asks artificial intelligence questions about antibiotic use and faster recovery methods, and receives acceptable answers.
Hippocratic AI claims that AI assistants have generally outperformed their human counterparts in most categories, based on the company's own research. The Hippocratic AI website states: “With generative AI, the incremental cost of accessing medical treatment and interventions tends to zero.” The company believes that language models are the only scalable way to bridge the gap between the demand for manpower in the treatment sector and the lack of sufficient manpower in this area.
The strange thing is that Hippocratic AI directly states that the replacement of human nurses by artificial intelligence is not one of the bugs of this project, but one of its features.
The cooperation of Hippocratic AI and Nvidia was announced at the GTC conference of the green chip maker team. Earlier in this event, this company had unveiled the world's most powerful artificial intelligence chip, the Blackwell B200, with 208 billion transistors.
