Armenia: It is time to sign the Yerevan and Baku Peace Treaty
The Armenian Foreign Minister said today (Thursday) that the time of signing a peace agreement between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan has come.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzavian, after meeting with Kazakh’s counterpart Morat Nortelo, said on Astana: “Today I emphasized that after the long talks, the time of signing an agreement with the Republic of Azerbaijan and moving towards peace in the South Caucasus region and providing economic opportunities.”
According to Ryanovast News Agency, Mirzavian provided information to the Foreign Minister of Qaraqstan about the process of resolving tensions between Yerevan and Baku, including that the two sides have agreed on the future peace treaty.
“Armenia’s position is clear; The recognition of the territorial integrity of the two countries and the restriction of the limits on the basis of the Almati Declaration, as well as the opening of regional communication lines based on the principles of indefinite respect and condition of the sovereignty and competence of each country, equality and mutuality. “
“It is clear that comprehensive resolution, solving humanitarian problems, including the determination of the fate of the missing and the release of prisoners of war and civilians, is very important,” he said.
“Similar attitudes toward the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity between Armenia and Kazakhstan, as well as their interest in developing and diversifying economic and regional transport networks, help expand the horizon of the two countries,” Mirzavian added.
March 6, the Armenian Foreign Ministry confirmed that negotiations for a peace treaty with the Republic of Azerbaijan have been completed and the document is ready to sign.
The Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Azerbaijan also confirmed the end of talks on the draft agreement.
Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashinian announced his readiness to sign the treaty on March 5 and invited Azerbaijani President Elham Aliyev to begin its signatures. Of course, Azerbaijan has not yet responded to Armenia’s proposal.
