The Serbian prime minister said following widespread protests in the country, he resigned because his party, which is the ruling party, should be the most responsible in the current situation.
According to RCO News Agency, Serbian Prime Minister Miloswash resigned today (Tuesday) following protests in his country and creating a gap in society.
“I think the policy I belong to, the party I have, and from all the parliamentary elections, the presidential election. And a province with the president has won, it must show the highest level of responsibility and show a new model in Serbian politics and show that it really has the most responsibility. Therefore, my inevitable decision is to resign as a Serbian prime minister.
Serbia has witnessed student protests since November last November following the fall of a train station in Novi Sad, the second largest province of Serbia. Three people died in the accident.
The government began investigating, arresting and interrogating officials and contractors, but opposition has made allegations, including negligence and corruption against the government, which caused protests and police clashes with citizens in large cities.
President Alexander Wochich ordered the government to publish thousands of documents about the rebuilding of the train station, but he urged demonstrators not to become a “tool in the hands of political figures”.
