Moscow: We do not abandon our conditions for resuming strategic talks with the US
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said that there is still no plan to make calls between the parties, saying that Moscow did not abandon the conditions for resuming negotiations on strategic stability with the United States.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said today (Monday) that Russia did not abandon its conditions for resuming strategic stability talks with the United States.
“The president did not say that we would abolish or ignore all that we have repeatedly discussed with the American side,” Rihanovast News agency reported that Ryabkov told reporters.
He added that Russia is ready to have talks with the United States on strategic stability, provided that Washington is making positive changes in its policies.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister also said that Russia calls on the United States to respond to Moscow’s request to submit a new Russian ambassador as soon as possible, but so far there has been no unusual event.
“We, of course, want to make decisions faster, because in our opinion, the normal activity of foreign institutions led by the ambassadors is prerequisite for any negotiations,” Ryabkov said. It is unpleasant for our ambassador to Washington because the United States did not give him a record.
He said the parties have not yet come to an agreement on the timing of a phone call between them.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister commented on the possible meeting of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the new US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the G -Summit, saying that no action has been taken to make contacts between the parties yet and about future events. It does not prejudice.
