Putin in a news conference with doctors: We attach great importance to expanding our relations with Iran – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency

According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Al-Mayadin, Russian President Vladimir Putin during a joint press conference with our country’s President Massoud Mezikian in Moscow emphasized that the relations between the two countries are broad and in line with their interests.

Putin added: The signing of the comprehensive strategic agreement pursues lofty goals. Today, Iran is taking forward steps regarding its relations with Russia, and there are very important fields regarding energy-related relations between the two countries.

He stated: We attach great importance to expanding relations with Iran in the future. The agreement with Iran is considered a unique leap in bilateral relations. There is consensus between Russia and Iran regarding foreign issues.

Putin clarified: We discussed various issues in the meeting with the president of the medical profession and there are agreements in this regard. We emphasized the need to protect the sovereignty of countries. Regarding Syria, Moscow emphasizes the need to protect the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and we hope that the Syrian nation will overcome all the current obstacles.

He said: Regarding the ceasefire in Gaza, we hope that this process will lead to the release of prisoners and the arrival of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Putin said: We want efforts to fully resolve conflicts in Palestine, including the formation of an independent state in this region, not to be weakened.

The president of our country also emphasized that the relations between Iran and Russia should be developed in economic and construction fields. He stated that the mentioned agreement is considered to be the opening of a new chapter in the commercial and economic relations between the two countries.

The doctor added that in his meeting in Russia, he discussed the fight against terrorism and the areas related to the South Caucasus and the Middle East.

He stated: We reached a common point of view regarding the aggression of the Zionist regime against Gaza and Lebanon and the necessity of ending these aggressions.

Putin also continued: Energy is considered the most important sector in the relations between Russia and Iran, and the construction of 2 new sectors in the Bushehr nuclear power plant will greatly strengthen energy security in Iran.

He said: The expansion of the North-South international crossing creates a new opportunity for cooperation between the two countries in the field of transportation.
