United Nations: Attacking nuclear power plants is unacceptable
The Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations said that the attack on the nuclear power plants in Russia and Ukraine is unacceptable.
According to RCO News Agency, Miroslav Yenka said at the UN Security Council meeting: It is vital to prevent a nuclear accident during war. An attack on a nuclear power plant is unthinkable and unacceptable.
According to Sputnik, he noted that the safety of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is still at risk.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has also been monitoring the impact of reported military activities in the vicinity of Russia’s Kursk nuclear power plant, the UN assistant secretary-general added.
IAEA Director-General Raphael Grossi said in late September that the agency has been in constant dialogue and exchange of very important information with Russia about the status of the Zaporizhzhia and Kursk nuclear power plants.
