Microsoft finally fulfilled its promise to release Windows Copilot. Starting today, the Windows Insider developer channel build (version 23493) brings access to Windows Copilot, built-in support for RAR and 7-Zip files, as well as a new settings page and a better audio mixer.
Microsoft first iroduced Windows Copilot earlier this year, and today’s version appears as a sidebar on the right side of Windows 11. The Windows team said in a blog post that this program will not ierfere with your Windows coe and will run separately alongside open windows. So you can ieract with Windows Copilot whenever you need.
You can ask questions to the artificial ielligence of Windows Copilot, which the Bing chatbot usually answers. You can even run the following system commands with it:
- Change dark mode
- Taking a screenshot
- Activate do not disturb mode
Windows CoPilot can also be used, like the Bing sidebar in Microsoft Edge, to summarize coe you’re searching on the web or to generate artificial ielligence images and text. Of course, because Windows Copilot is in the initial preview mode, it is not very useful at the mome, and therefore it only corols some basic settings of Windows and does not currely support third-party plugins.
Microsoft has also added built-in support for RAR or 7-Zip files to Windows 11. Other compression formats added include tar, 7-zip, RAR, gz, and several others that use the libarchive open source project. Microsoft has warned that there may be problems in the initial performance of these formats and is working to improve them in future versions of Windows Insider.
Another feature that has been added to the new version of Windows Insider is the improved audio mixer in the Windows 11 Quick Settings section. The new update iroduces a modern audio mixer that will allow for quick audio customization on a per-app basis. A new keyboard shortcut (WIN + CTRL + V) has also been added for faster corol of the audio experience and direct access to the audio mixer.
Microsoft has also added a new settings page to Windows 11. This page includes a preview of the device you are using along with importa settings. You can now immediately eer the system section of the settings. The new page is designed in such a way that it will cause less trouble for you with up to seven information cards. On this page, you can view information about Microsoft 365 or Xbox subscriptions, manage Bluetooth devices, quickly personalize wallpapers, and check the amou of OneDrive cloud storage.
And finally, Microsoft is testing a new suggestion feature for Snap Layouts in Windows 11. When you hover over the Minimize or Maximize options, the app icons will be displayed based on the best apps that can fit together.
