The historic Husseiniyah of the Qazvin Amini, after the city’s mosque, is the second monument to be damaged during the filming of Jiran and Bamdad. According to a report in “Kajaro”, filmmakers with fabric and cashmere to walls with staple, unauthorized coloring and damage to the plaster columns have hurt the monument.
During the report, Jalal Amini, Mutawali Hosseinieh and Ehsan Nourani, the deputy director of Qazvin Cultural Heritage, confirmed these violations and damage.
At a news conference, Sayed Reza Salehi Amiri protested the lack of accountability of provincial officials after the report was released, and the Minister of Cultural Heritage said in a protest by reporters:
I have repeatedly emphasized that all our general managers in the provinces must be accountable to the media. Fortunately, there is a good relationship between provincial managers and reporters, and in some provinces there is a media strategic council with active participation of media associates.
But in the courtyard of the cabinet, Salehi Amiri explained the concerns of reporters about the Qazvin Amini Hosseinieh and the damages that the serialization had done to the building:
We closed there, there is no longer any permission to serve. Fortunately serious reconstruction in Qazvin is ongoing; Including the reconstruction of the Jame Mosque that ended and its scaffolds opened.
This shows that the incorrect use of filmmakers from monuments has become one of the serious challenges of Qazvin’s cultural heritage; However, there were also concerns about the Sushun series as part of the serial locations were in the Garden of Afifabad and the Citadel of Karim Khan Zand. During filming in the Afifabad Garden, some cultural heritage activists and locals also expressed concern about the harm to the national heritage.
