A passenger who tried to open the plane door in the middle of the flight was restrained by other passengers with tape.
A group of passengers restrained and taped an unruly passenger during a flight from Milwaukee to Dallas in the United States. The incident occurred after the passenger tried to open the plane’s door at an altitude of 30,000 feet.
On American Airlines Flight 1915, an unruly passenger tells the flight attendant that he must leave the plane now. As the man’s restlessness increases and the situation escalates, the flight attendant comes to help and asks nearby passengers to help. Then, as the flight attendant got between the plane’s L1 exit door and the unruly passenger, fellow passengers duct taped a flight attendant and tied the man’s wrists, knees and feet together to restrain him.
After the plane landed safely at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, agents from the FBI and the airport’s Department of Public Safety boarded the plane, arrested the passenger and took him for a psychiatric evaluation.
