Two illegal diggers were arrested in Galikesh, Golestan.
The commander of Golestan’s cultural heritage protection unit announced the illegal digging to a depth of 20 meters to find historical monuments in Galikash city and the arrest of 2 diggers.
Colonel Syed Faramarz Mir said regarding the arrest of illegal diggers:
Based on reports from cultural heritage lovers about illegal digging and digging of a 20-meter deep pit in a hilly area in Galikash city, the issue was put on the agenda.
The commander of the protection unit of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Golestan added:
After the field investigations and monitoring of the area, an experienced team from the operational base of the cultural heritage protection unit of the eastern province in cooperation with the police force of Galikash city and after obtaining legal representation was dispatched to the place and after conducting a surprise operation, 2 illegal diggers were arrested while committing Crime was arrested.
He noted:
The defendants were handed over to the police force of Galikesh along with the illegal drilling tools by preparing the minutes of the meeting in order to proceed with the legal and judicial procedures.
