Some Arab countries are planning to create a single visa system.
The Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates announced the decision of the member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to launch a single visa system.
According to this event-based system, the residents of these countries can move freely between the member countries. United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar are 6 member countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.
Currently, only the citizens of the member countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council can travel without a visa to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, and the expatriates residing in these countries can travel to any of the GCC member countries. They must apply for a visa. Although some nationalities can travel without a visa or by getting a bad visa and entering these countries.
At the beginning of this year, the Minister of Tourism of Bahrain announced the plan of the member countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council to issue Schengen visas for tourists.
Fatemeh Al-Sirafi, during a speech at the Arabian Travel Market exhibition, said that negotiations at the ministerial level for the implementation of a unified visa system are underway and this system will be launched soon. An official of the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates also said in that meeting that this system helps tourists to visit several countries by purchasing an unlimited travel package.
