1. Lake Marmisho
After the drying of Urmia Lake, more attention was paid to Marmisho’s turquoise lake. This pristine space with its mild climate, charming mountain nature and raging rivers around it is one of the best and most visited places in Urmia in spring and summer. The depth of this lake is 50 to 60 meters and you can catch salmon in it.

2. Band Village (Band Tourism)
In the village of Band, history and nature go hand in hand and create an interesting landscape that is full of surprises for travelers. 3. Sylvana’s Cottage
In the Silvana farm, the melting of the mountain snow has created lakes and springs that revive the sense of the pristine nature of the north. 4. Dalamper mountain, lake and waterfall
Dalamper’s nature delights every viewer. Here you can see the spring, waterfall, lake and flowery plain in one frame, which are decorated with thousands of years old glaciers. If you are eager to see the natural sights of Urmia, don’t miss the Sule Dukal waterfall at the foot of this mountain. After 3500 meters of hiking and climbing, an amazing lake is in front of you, which according to some climbers, is a piece of heaven.

5. Urmia Municipality Building
Urmia municipal building was built during the Pahlavi era and was inspired by the Tabriz municipality building, but today it has become a beautiful and magnificent anthropological museum that welcomes tourists. Other historical attractions of this area include the 64th headquarters building and the Shahrbani building, all of which are located in Ilayat Square, one of the oldest squares in Iran.

6. Urmia market
If you are eager to see the sights of Urmia city, you must visit the Urmia market to get a good view of the architectural style, culture and authenticity of the people of the city. Part of the nested and connected corridors of this market belong to the Safavid era and parts of it belong to the Zandiyeh and Qajar eras.

7. Three-domed tower
One of the must-see places in Urmia in spring is the three-domed cylindrical tower that dates back to the Seljuk era. On the first visit, the inscriptions on the pediment of the building catch your attention, with words carved in Kufic script. In the tombs around the tower, great merchants and nobles are buried in history.

8. Sardar Mosque
Sardar Mosque or Saatlovi Urmia is one of the sights that history-loving tourists do not miss the opportunity to see during their visit to Urmia. Stone columns, brick vaults and domes, and an arched gate along with the yellow and turquoise tiles of the mosque have created an interesting sight that you can’t get enough of watching. This mosque dates back to the Qajar era and its builder was Abdul Samad Khan, the father of Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar.

9. Marsargiz Church
Marsargiz stone church was built before the arrival of Islam in Iran by the order of Khosroparviz’s wife. This is the place of pilgrimage for Armenians, Christians and Assyrians, and it has great religious and spiritual value for these loved ones. The wonders of this church are endless, from the uneven stones of the roof and walls, which are skillfully built on top of each other, to the holes built into the roof of the church.

10. Tammeh Cave
Tetmeh or Tetman cave is one of the natural attractions of Urmia, which dates back to the Paleolithic era. This place is valuable in terms of history, because it gives us a good view of the dwelling place of our cave-dwelling ancestors and introduces us to the residence of early humans in nature.

11. Shemelkan waterfall
Do not return home from Band Yakrasat village. Continue on your way to reach Shemkalkan waterfall and enjoy its beautiful landscape. Another way to access this roaring waterfall is in the heart of nature; Navigation in the green slopes of Sir village. Be sure to spend a few hours exploring the surrounding nature and see the ruins of the ruined Kazem Dashi castle up close.

12. Ansari’s house
There are not one or two sightseeing places in Urmia city. One of the most spectacular of them is the historical Ansari house with beautiful decorations and Gujri architecture, which is located in the heart of the historical fabric of Urmia, and although it is only 70 years old, its corners revive the feeling of life 200 years ago. You need to get a ticket to enter this historical house.

13. Two step refrigerator
Doquz Pele (nine steps) refrigerator was a place to store ice before the invention of industrial refrigerators. But today, it has become a permanent exhibition of the water house and it displays the art of Urmia people. This historic building with its stone facade, arched roof and arched windows dates back to the Qajar era and is a registered national monument.

14. Valley of Martyrs
Another must-see place in Urmia in spring and summer is Ghasemlu Valley resort, which if you are a tourist, you must visit it during your trip to Urmia. Natural landscapes, springs, refreshing plains and green valleys have provided a suitable place for nature lovers to stay and spend the night. 15. Barandoz Chai River
Another sight to see in Urmia in the summer is the abundant and clear Barandoz River, which originates from the highlands of Iran, Turkey and Iraq and flows into Lake Urmia. To watch this river, you have to go to Barandoz village, the paradise of apple orchards in West Azarbaijan province, to enjoy the view of the village, which is similar to the image of old postcards.

16. Bank Castle
This four-story cone-shaped building on top of the mountain is one of the amazing scenery of Urmia’s nature. This castle was built with stone, iron, horseshoe, lime and sand, and it was proposed by Amir Khan during the Safavid period. Even though only its ruins remain, it is still worth visiting and is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Urmia.

17. Four tower mansion
In the commercial center of the city, somewhere around the Church of Nene Maryam and the Ark Gate, Reza Qolikhan’s government building (ruler of Urmia during the Zendiyeh period) with the name Chahar Burj Palace welcomes tourists. In the four corners of this building, you can see four towers and in the middle space there are several halls, bathrooms, indoor and outdoor. The watercolor paintings you see in the halls of this mansion are all the works of an artist named Allahvardi who lived in this city. This is one of the most beautiful places in Urmia that you can visit in all seasons.

18. St. Peter’s Church
Look for indoor attractions to visit Urmia in winter. One of the best places to visit in Urmia in winter is the Church of Petros Polis, which dates back to the 8th century AD and the era of Bakhtishua Hakim. When you visit this church, you will see a rectangular hall and rooms with a relatively long front, which are built with rubble and carcasses, and their interiors are tastefully painted with blue color.

19. Lake Urmia
Lake Urmia is the most important tourist attraction of Urmia, which once held the title of the sixth salt water lake in the world.
