It seems that Google does not intend to make fundamental changes in the design and hardware of its upcoming mid-range phone. Although we are still far from the official unveiling, the leak of the Pixel 10a specifications list shows that this device is practically a repeat and has undeniable similarities to its predecessor. Leaked documents from Verizon’s carrier approval, released by a well-known whistleblower, paint a picture of stagnation and lack of innovation at Google’s A Series.
According to Tekna’s technology news and media hardware department, according to available information, Pixel 10a will be equipped with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. In the energy supply department, a 5100 mAh battery is responsible for keeping the device on. The combination of 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of basic storage space is exactly the same standard that we see in the current models and there is no change in this department.
The interesting thing about this revelation is the processor. Previously, it was expected that Google would use its own completely custom chips produced by TSMC’s chipmaking technology in the 10 series; But the evidence suggests that the Pixel 10a will still stick to the G4 Tensor chip or an enhanced version of it. This is the same chip that beats at the heart of the Pixel 9a, and using it again in the 2026 model could be a controversial decision to reduce production costs.
In the camera department, Google has stuck to its old formula. The dual camera module includes a 48-megapixel main sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The 13-megapixel selfie camera is also placed in the display cavity. It seems that Google intends to keep the final price low by recycling hardware parts and maintaining the previous design language, although this approach may come at the cost of losing the appeal of the product.
