But today, it’s time to unveil the new generation of this series, called “ViewFinity S9”, which is considered the world’s first 5K monitor. This model not only has a higher resolution than last year’s model, but also has a higher DPI and brightness. In addition, the Samsung S9 monitor has been updated with newer tools that can make the professional life of designers easier. Despite the attractive specifications, the price of the Samsung ViewFinity S9 monitor has jumped compared to the previous generation, which somewhat diminishes its economic value.

The Viewfinity S9 monitor is equipped with a 27-inch display with a 5K or 5120 x 2880 resolution, which provides up to 50% more work space compared to 4K UHD monitors. This monitor also supports 99% DCI-P31 coverage and 218 PPI pixel density. Also, the brightness of this display is almost double that of the previous generation and reaches 600 cd/m2.

For the first time, this monitor is equipped with a smart calibration tool that can be accessed through a smartphone. This tool allows users to optimize their monitor through the aforementioned settings and eliminates the need for a color calibration device. However, it is not yet clear what other advantages this smart calibration feature has compared to the traditional model.

Samsung’s ViewFinity S9 monitor also offers new features for professional designers who use the display for long hours. According to Samsung’s claim, this screen supports the TUV eye care standard, which reduces the strain on the eyes during use. The new Samsung monitor also has a 4K camera, which makes it a good option for people who participate in various video conferences. In addition to being designed for professional use, this display is also used as a smart TV for entertaining content.

The smart TV software of this monitor allows users to play various games and programs on their screen. Of course, the refresh rate of this monitor is limited to only 60 Hz, which is not very interesting for professional gamers. The ViewFinity S9 monitor is less economical compared to the previous generation and comes with a price tag of $1,599.99.
