Toyota Rise, the little-known crossover of this popular Japanese car manufacturer, was ordered for import to Iran. In the following, see the specifications of the Raize SUV.
Some time ago, a report was published about placing an order for the import of 5 Toyota cars to Iran. Aygo X, Yaris, Corolla and Corolla Cross were these 5 cars that we learned about their release in the market of the country. Even after some time, the import of Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid to Iran was confirmed so that Toyota enthusiasts and of course those who can afford to buy its products can celebrate their arrival in the country. Now there are whispers that a little-known product with the Toyota logo called “Raize” has passed the order registration stage to become a guest of the Iranian market.
Introducing Toyota Rise, Iran’s new imported crossover
As mentioned, Rise is a name that many people may not have heard of; Camry, Land Cruiser, Corolla and Rav4 are more famous products of this Japanese brand, which have a lot of fans in Iran. Now, to introduce the Rise, it should be said that it is a subcompact crossover based on the Rocky car from the Japanese automaker Daihatsu. The platform on which this car is developed is not Toyota’s TNGA but Daihatsu’s DNGA, but since Toyota is considered one of the main owners of this company, it must have transferred its experience and technology to it.
The Toyota Rise is not even 5 years old, so it is not surprising that it has yet to make a name for itself. Of course, this compact Japanese crossover is gradually attracting its customers, especially in Asia, and as a low-end product, it can get a decent share of less developed markets. In fact, the Rise carries the title of the most affordable Toyota product at the moment with a price range of under $20,000.
The imported version of the Raize subcompact crossover will have a 1-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood that can produce 98 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque. A two-mode continuously variable transmission (Continuously Variable Transmission) sends the driving force of this engine to the front axle. Of course, the two-wheel drive or AWD version of this Toyota SUV is also available, which does not seem to make its way to Iran, at least at the moment.
With this small-volume 3-cylinder engine, Rise needs 10.6 to 12 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and its maximum speed reaches 170 km/h. This shows that this imported SUV is only used for daily commuting in the city and you should not expect high speed and power from it. Also, its fuel consumption is estimated at 5.2 liters per 100 kilometers; A suitable figure that is another indication of the economical nature of this Toyota Ribbed product.
Like many other new imports in the Iranian market, the features and equipment of the imported version of the Toyota Rise have not been revealed. However, here is a list of safety and comfort features available for this Japanese subcompact crossover:
- Anti-lock brake (ABS)
- Electronic brake force distribution (EBD)
- Stability Control System (ESC) and Traction Control System (TCS)
- Disc brakes in the front and rear areas
- 2 airbags (with indicators of airbags and seat belts)
- Obstacle warning in the front and rear areas
- Keyless entry and push-button start
- 7-inch central touch screen with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- 7-inch screen behind the steering wheel
- Rear view camera and front passenger side parking camera
- Audio system with 6 speakers
- Cruise control
- Automatic air conditioning
- Combined leather and fabric trim for seats
- Aluminum rims
- LED lights
- Shark fin antenna
The price of the Toyota Rise starts at $15,000 for the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated manual transmission and reaches $20,000 for the 1-liter turbocharged version. Including legal costs and importer’s profit and other things, it is expected that this crossover will be offered in the Iranian market at a price of 1.5 billion tomans.
