The most high-quality and low-quality car manufacturers in the world were introduced in the JD Power 2023 classification; But where is the position of Iran in terms of the quality of manufactured cars?
The American JD Power Institute has recently published the list of the most high-quality and low-quality car manufacturers in the world, as well as various cars. This institute examines different cars and different brands every year, and the number of visits to the dealership to fix defects is one of their most important criteria for comparing the quality between cars and different car manufacturers.
In its statistics, JD Power institute measures the first 90 days of ownership of cars with zero kilometers and compares the number of visits to the dealership out of every hundred cases. For example, the number 140 for Dodge means 140 visits to the dealership as an average among 100 cars.
Know the most high-quality car manufacturers in the world
According to JD Power statistics, this year the visits of zero kilometer car owners to dealers have increased by seven percent compared to the previous year and apparently the quality conditions of the cars have dropped. According to JD Power’s new list for 2023, Dodge, Ram and Alfa Romeo brands, which are all three subsidiaries of the Fiat Chrysler Group, are ranked first to third among the most high-quality car manufacturers in the world. American brands are ranked 4th to 6th, and German brands are in the middle of the list.
The strange thing in this list is the placement of Volvo in the last place and this Swedish brand, whose products are known by many people, especially in Iran, to be of high quality, has been introduced as the lowest quality car manufacturer. Chrysler and Volkswagen are also at the bottom of the list and have shown disappointing performance. Audi, Infiniti and Lincoln, which were among the trusted car manufacturers in the American market, are now struggling in the last ranks of the table.
Among the all-electric brands, the performance of companies such as Tesla, Rivian, Polestar and Lucid has been disappointing; For example, the number of zero-kilometer Tesla cars visiting dealerships has increased significantly compared to last year. Also, in the list published by JD Power, the most high-quality cars of the year have been introduced, and the highest score has been assigned to the Nissan Maxima. What about Iranian car manufacturers?
Naturally, there is no mention of Iranian car manufacturers and cars in JD Power’s report. But according to the report recently published by the Research Center of the Islamic Council, we can find out the index of satisfaction with the initial quality of the product and the number of defects in the first three months after the delivery of the car.
According to the report published by the Iran Quality and Inspection Company in 2016, this index was equal to 3.7, which reached 3.12 in 2019 and 2.79 at the end of 2014. The international average of this index is estimated to be 0.9, which shows that Iranian customers of domestic cars in the first three months of using the car with zero kilometers, more than 3 times more than the global average, have gone to dealers to fix the problems. This statistic shows the significant gap between the quality of cars in the Iranian market and cars in the world today.
