The Samsung Dot Quantum TVs have been able to get the SGS International Institute’s approval for non -cadmium technology.
Samsung Electronics announced that the quantum dot layer used on QD TVs has been able to obtain a certificate of compliance with the Standard Restriction of Dangerous Materials (ROHS). According to the evaluation carried out by the SGS International Institute, this layer lacks the cadmium toxic element and is evaluated safely.
The SGS Institute, based in Geneva, Switzerland, is recognized as one of the most prestigious and leading international institutions in the field of testing, inspection and certification. By providing extensive evaluation services, the organization helps a variety of industries such as electronics, food safety and environmental protection to ensure adaptation to world quality and safety standards.
Samsung has taken an important step in maintaining consumer health and ensuring safety while watching TV by receiving the SGS Institute’s approval to use cadmium -free technology in the Dot quantum layer as well as adapting to the EU ROHS standard.
Tae Jung Sun, the senior vice president of the Samsung Video Display Unit, emphasized the company’s safe -oriented approach to product development:
Samsung’s quantum TVs are based on technologies that adhere to the limitations of the use of dangerous materials, offering a unique image quality experience. SGS certification is a confirmation of the safety of these products and makes us more determined to develop sustainable technologies in the field of displays.
Samsung has begun its research on quantum technology in 2001 and has consolidated its position as one of the pioneers of the display industry worldwide with extensive investment and effort. In 2014, the company managed to develop the first non -cadium -free quantum material, and just a year later launched technology -based TVs. Since then, Samsung has played a key role in advancing quantum dot technology, relying on continuous innovations.
Samsung in particular has been able to develop cadmium -free nanocrystalline materials and has so far registered about 150 patents related to the technology. The company, relying on extensive technical knowledge and innovative achievements, offers a new generation of dot quantum TVs that, using safe and harmful elements free, provide higher standards of safety and quality to consumers.
