The new shameless copy of the Chinese, this time the Land Rover Defender

A Chinese car manufacturer has unveiled its off-road SUV in collaboration with Bike. The design of this SUV is clearly copied from the Land Rover Defender.

Chinese car manufacturers copying the products of prominent western car manufacturers is not a new issue, and it has even become a cliché that many people may be tired of hearing. However, now that China’s auto industry has entered a different level than in the past, there are still cars from time to time that are clearly based on a well-known foreign product. The new copy of the Chinese, after the copy of Lamborghini Urus and Land Cruiser, is a long chassis with a minimal square design that evokes the Land Rover Defender.

Via the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, which is always providing new information about Chinese cars, we have obtained the details of an SUV called the Stone 01 (Stone 01). This SUV is made by “Rox Motor” company in cooperation with Bike, one of the biggest Chinese car manufacturers. Despite this, the result of the partnership between the two companies is nothing more than a high-class version of the Land Rover Defender, the famous British SUV.

The Aston 01’s resemblance to the Land Rover Defender can be seen especially in the side view. In fact, at the first glance at the side view of this Chinese SUV, you cannot notice any difference with the Land Rover Defender. Even in the rear view, this Chinese car is practically not much different from the Defender, and this is evident in the shape of the rear lights as well as the spare tire. Of course, at least the front area is different from this famous British SUV, and instead of round lights, boomerang-like lights are used.

As the Land Rover Defender is available in two versions, 110 and 130, with different wheelbases, the Chinese copy is also available to customers in two versions. The Chinese Aston 01 SUV is 5050mm long, 1980mm wide and 1869mm high, with a 3010mm wheelbase.

Now, regarding the driving forces of this Chinese copy of Land Rover Defender, it should be mentioned that a plug-in hybrid engine is responsible for providing it. The plug-in hybrid powertrain includes a 1.5-liter turbocharged 150-horsepower engine and two electric motors, one in the front and one in the rear, which are capable of producing 201 and 268 horsepower, respectively. These electric motors are powered by a lithium-ion battery made by CATL.
