According to the latest report of Counterpoint Research, the market analyst company, Apple’s iPhone 15 series phones have been able to be decisively at the top of the best-selling smartphones in the world. The iPhone 15, 15 Pro Max, and 15 Pro models have taken the first, second, and third positions, respectively.
According to Tekna Technology Media’s mobile news service, this report shows that despite the intense competition in the smartphone market, the demand for Apple’s flagship products is still very high. Especially the standard iPhone 15 model has been able to account for half of the sales of the entire iPhone 15 series. Meanwhile, the larger model of this series, i.e. iPhone 15 Plus, is not specifically mentioned in this report.
In this list, Samsung Galaxy A series phones have also performed well, and its A15 5G and 4G/LTE models have been able to take the fourth and fifth places, respectively. However, Samsung’s flagship model, the Galaxy S24, only managed to reach 10th place. The interesting thing to note is that the Chinese Redmi 13C 4G phone has been able to rank 9th in this list and surpass the Galaxy S24. This shows that mid-range phones still occupy a significant share of the market.
Due to the recent launch of the iPhone 16, the competition in the smartphone market is expected to intensify in the fourth quarter of 2024. It remains to be seen whether the iPhone 16’s new features, such as the improved camera and powerful A18 processor, can cement this phone’s position at the top of the best-selling list.
