Obtaining this position is an important achievement for Huawei; Especially when we realize that this position is associated with a 44.1% increase in sales of tablets of this company compared to last year. Huawei is now the fourth largest tablet manufacturer in the world.

According to IDC Institute, in the third quarter of 2024, Huawei was able to take over 8.2% of the tablet market in the world and experience the sale of 3.3 million devices. IDC has associated this significant development of the Chinese with the company’s decision to diversify its tablet portfolio. Over the past nine months, Huawei has launched several different tablet models in different price and performance classes and has performed brilliantly in both the economic and premium product sectors.
In particular, the MatePad SE 11 tablet was able to achieve higher than expected sales globally with its competitive pricing and impressive specifications.
Apple; Still the leader of the tablet market in the world
Huawei’s performance aside, once again Apple has been the brightest brand in the field of tablets. The Cupertino giant experienced sales of 12.6 million units in Q3 2024, a 1.4% increase over the same period in 2023. Of course, it should be noted that the most premium tablet of this company, the iPad Pro, could not sell brilliantly as expected due to its very high price; But in general, the performance of Apple iPads in the last three months is considered excellent.
In the meantime, the extraordinary sales plan of “Back to School” was the most important reason for Apple’s brilliance and gaining a 31.8% share of this market; A share that most of it owes to the iPad Air and its unique brilliance.
On the other hand, Samsung sold 7.1 million Galaxy Tab tablets and took a 17.9% share of the market, coming in second behind Apple. Among the Samsung tablets, the Galaxy Tab A9 budget product was the best-selling tablet in most parts of the world. Samsung has also experienced a growth of 18.3% compared to the same period in 2023.
Also, two companies, Amazon and Lenovo, took the third and fifth places in the list of the best-selling tablets in the world by registering sales of 4.6 and 3 million devices. The interesting thing to note in this regard is the 111.3% growth of Amazon compared to the same period last year, which is considered stunning. Lenovo also experienced a 14.7% increase in sales compared to last year.
In the meantime, other brands were able to capture a 22.9% share of this market with a total sale of 9.1 million tablets.
In general, the global market of tablets experienced the sale of 39.6 million devices in the third quarter of 2024 and reached a growth of 20.4%. However, IDC believes that the trend towards artificial intelligence-based technologies will further change the taste of users and lean towards tablets. Therefore, we can expect the sales of these devices to be even higher in the future.
