Contrary to the expectations of many people, a not so well-known brand has managed to acquire the largest share of the Chinese mobile market above the big ones like Apple and Huawei.
New reports published on the Chinese mobile market indicate relatively large changes in the taste of users of this important market; So that now, instead of focusing on one phone maker brand, the Chinese people like the products of several different Chinese companies, and the difference between the market leaders of this country has been reduced to a minimum.
Vivo; The new leader of the mobile phone market in China
After shining in the Indian market, the not-so-big company Vivo has now become the largest manufacturer of mobile phones in China, and in the third quarter of 2024, with 19% of the country’s market, it has surpassed mobile phone manufacturers such as Huawei, Xiaomi and Apple. take Compared to the same period last year, this company has experienced 25% more sales and increased its market share from 16% to 19%.
After Vivo, Huawei, Honor, Xiaomi, and Apple are in the second to fifth ranks of the list of best-selling phone manufacturers in the Chinese market, and they are closely behind each other. In particular, Huawei has acquired 16% of China’s market share; While Honor and Xiaomi are ranked next with 15% and Apple with 14% of the market share.
Meanwhile, the important point about these companies is the difference in their sales, which was less than 800 thousand copies.
Among the top phone makers in China, Huawei and Xiaomi have experienced an increase in sales compared to the same period last year. Huawei’s sales in the third quarter of 2024 increased by about 24%; While Xiaomi has also recorded a 13% increase in this period. Analysts have listed the reason for this increase in the sales of the mentioned brands as the wide range of products and acceptable creativity in their different phones.
On the other hand, both Honor and Apple have faced a decrease in sales. Honor’s sales were about 13% lower than last year; While Apple has experienced a 6% drop in sales. The main reason for the decline in Apple sales is the tendency of Chinese users to local phones instead of the products of this American brand.
Except for these five well-known brands, other phone makers have a total of 21% of the Chinese market. This amount was equal to 24% last year, which indicates the less tendency of users to products outside of these five main brands. This issue on a large scale indicates major changes in the Chinese market and indicates a decrease in loyalty to certain brands in this country.
On the other hand, the competition between the top five phone makers in the Chinese market has now reached its heaviest level; So that the competition between these brands is around several hundred thousand devices and it can increase the expectation of similar changes in this country by increasing the number of reliable brands and the formation of closer competition between them.
