Xiaomi has just released a major update for its Mix Flip foldable phone which brings HyperOS version 1.0.11.0 UNICNXM to the device. This update, which is approximately 625 MB in size, introduces a series of improvements and new features that especially enhance the performance of the external display.
The update introduces a new smart pop-up window for the external display with a notification card that allows users to view important information such as trip details, food delivery progress and verification codes directly on the external display without opening it, according to Tekna Technology News Service. Additionally, users can now directly open apps by tapping on external screen widgets, providing faster and more convenient access to frequently used apps. In addition, the external display now supports more apps, including Mi Home and Happy Match, which expands its usability and makes it more versatile for everyday tasks.
Along with these new features, Xiaomi has also optimized the overall stability of the system to provide a smoother and more reliable user experience. The dark mode input experience on external displays has also been improved, providing better visibility and ease of use in low-light conditions.
In terms of app compatibility, this update has improved external screen compatibility for popular apps like WeChat and Douyin, ensuring that these apps run more smoothly on the smaller screen. Xiaomi has also fixed some bugs and issues in this update, including occasional glitches in certain scenarios and app switching restart issues on the external screen, which improves the overall user experience. Additionally, the August 2024 security patch is integrated into this update, providing users with the latest security enhancements to protect their device and data.
Launched earlier this year, the Xiaomi Mix Flip features a 6.86-inch LTPO 1.5K display with a maximum brightness of 3000 nits, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and UTG glass protection. The external display is a 4-inch 1.5K panel with similar brightness and HDR capabilities. The device is powered by a 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 processor with Adreno 750 GPU, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device runs on Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS and includes a 50-megapixel rear camera, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, an edge-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 4,780mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
