Nissan unveiled the Nismo version of the Aria electric crossover. 430 hp engine, special trim and the sound of Formula E cars are the features of Aria Nismo.
During the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon exhibition, Nissan displayed a new product from the Nismo performance series; Nissan Aria Nismo. Aria electric crossover now has a special trim, new elements in the interior and also increased output. After GTR, Z and Skyline, whose Nismo version was produced, now Aria Nismo has interesting differences from them; Both because it is considered an urban crossover and because its engine is fully electric.
Nissan Aria Nismo with sports performance
The Nissan Ariya compact crossover was first introduced in 2020 and finally went into production in 2022 after facing delays due to the chip shortage crisis caused by the Covid pandemic. Aria is an urban crossover suitable for daily commuting and at the same time, it has powerful engines; 238 horsepower single-engine engine and two-engine engine whose output reaches 389 horsepower. Now, Nissan has presented the Nismo version of this car, which is one step higher in terms of output in both single-engine and dual-engine combinations.
Nissan offers two Nismo versions of the Aria in Japan. Using two electric motors, the base version can produce 362 horsepower and 559 Nm of torque and relies on a 66 kWh battery for its energy supply. The higher version has the ability to produce 430 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque and is powered by a 91 kWh battery.
Surprisingly, no details about Ariya Nismo's performance have been shared; But we can guess that the 430 hp version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4.8 seconds. Previously, the most powerful version of the regular Aria needed 4.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. This crossover also has a high weight due to the battery pack, and its lightest version is at least 2080 kg, while its weight even reaches 2219 kg.
The Aria Nismo gets ultra-rugged 20-inch wheels with custom 255mm-wide tires, and Nissan promises better cornering handling. This SUV also benefits from a mode called Nismo, which brings faster acceleration as well as synthetic sounds of Formula E cars. In addition, in the front area of the Ariya's interior, larger seats are placed, and red trim and Nismo badges are other features of this special edition.
Nissan Aria Nismo will be released in Japan next spring. What do you think of gadget news users about this electric crossover?
