Knowledgeable sources report the production of a new version of the Tesla Model Y facelift in the next few months. The new Y model follows changes in the exterior and cabin.
Late last summer, Tesla introduced the Tesla Model 3 facelift after 6 years, so that this electric sedan still has something to say in today's competitive market. The latest car news shows that this American car manufacturer plans to produce a new version of the Tesla Model Y with changes in appearance in order to keep up with the market.
Production of the new Tesla Model Y facelift in the next few months
According to a Bloomberg report, citing sources who asked to remain anonymous, Tesla will begin mass production of the new facelift version of the Tesla Model Y at its Shanghai Gigafactory within the next few months, or to be more precise, “mid-2024.” Sources have pointed out that the Shanghai Gigafactory will be suspended during the New Year for upgrading some parts, and after that, the new version of Tesla's best-selling crossover will be put into production in the second phase of the Shanghai Gigafactory. Of course, it is not clear whether the sources mean the New Year days in the next few days or the Chinese New Year in February.
Rumors suggest that the new Tesla Model Y will come with “significant” changes in the exterior and interior. That means we're likely to get a facelift, unlike the recently updated version of the crossover in China that got interior lighting and performance upgrades. Also, according to these descriptions, this new version of Tesla Model Y is the same “Juniper” project that we heard about in early 2023. At the time, it was revealed that Tesla would facelift the car with exterior and interior changes in 2024, with Juniper being the intended codename for the project.
Tesla has been working on updating its vehicles as it recently delivered the first Cybertruck pickups during a special event. Of course, as expected, a re-show of this pickup was not far from the sidelines, and aside from criticism of Tesla's advertising games, a report from Reuters about the danger of cybertrucks to pedestrians and other vehicles was published. Even with the video of Tesla Cybertruck's awful performance circulating on social networks, the performance of this car was also discussed.
