A Japanese company has developed a new type of robot that can identify and clean up old satellites by riding on a spacecraft.
According to Tekna technology and technology news service, the Japanese company Astroscale published images of a new robot that uses a creative and bold method to clean the earth’s orbit. Currently, cleaning this part of the Earth from space debris has become an important issue among astronomers and researchers. On the other hand, companies such as SpaceX and OneWeb have also planned to launch many satellites.
Of course, many satellites are long-lived in Earth orbit, and many of them are designed in such a way that they will eventually burn up in the atmosphere. But not all of them have such a fate and remain in this orbit as space debris.
The Japanese company introduced its latest creation with the aim of removing more than 2,200 defunct satellites. This company said: Space debris can cause dangerous collisions. This space is terribly dangerous and something needs to be done about it.
In this company’s method, the spacecraft first evaluates the endangered satellite and then with the help of its thrusters, it tries to pull the satellite down and towards the atmosphere. In this way, it disintegrates and disappears upon safe entry into the atmosphere.
