Crystal Dynamics studio recently unveiled the remake of the classic fantasy game Legacy of Kain: Defiance.
In recent years, Crystal Dynamics has followed a trend of remaking its popular works, and now it’s Defiance’s turn to be released with new features, skins, and more features for modern consoles; A work that many fans consider to be the best game in the Legacy of Kain series. In the new trailer, the game was remastered with improved HD graphics and effects. Of course, players can switch between the remastered graphics and the original 2003 version at any point in the game.
New features have also been added, including a third-person camera, photography mode, deleted stages, and route guide maps for smoother exploration of the environment. Also, skins are considered for the main characters that are a tribute to the previous works; Like Kane’s human appearance and Raziel’s vampire appearance. Finally, story content will be available through in-game articles and new concept art.
A deluxe version of the game called Deeper into Nosgoth is also available and includes a playable demo of Dark Prophecy, which is actually the unreleased sequel to Defiance. Although Legacy of Kain: Defiance depicted the final confrontation between Kain and Raziel, the ending of the game remains relatively open. With access to this demo, fans can see what fate would have awaited the world of Nosgath if the sequel had not been canceled. This edition also includes the official Legacy of Kain comics with a new Defiance cover by lead artist Tyler Kirkham.
Finally, the release of Defiance Remastered comes a little over a year after the release of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered; A remaster that received a relatively warm welcome from fans. Of course, although some fans were hoping that the Blood Omen series would also receive new versions, it seems that Crystal Dynamics has chosen a different path and went directly to Defiance.
This game is scheduled to be released on March 2 (March 11) for PlayStation 8 and 9 generation consoles, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PCs.
