The artificial intelligence video production application Sora, after the initial release for the iOS operating system, has now been released for the Android operating system.
According to Android Authority, it was announced a few weeks ago that OpenAI plans to release the Sora app for Android, and today this app has been officially released on Google Play. OpenAI announced at X last week that it will temporarily allow users in certain countries, including the US, to start making videos with Sora without requiring an invite code.
The Sora app is now also available for Android
Now the Sora app released for Android apparently does not require any invitation code and allows users to start making videos without restrictions. Of course, this feature may not be available in some countries.
OpenAI’s Sora models are rapidly improving, and in some tests have even been seen to outperform Google’s Veo 3 model. Until now, if you wanted to work with Sora, you had to use either a personal computer or the iOS application, but now it is possible to use this platform for Android users as well.
In addition to the ability to generate videos based on text commands, the Sora app has a social section that allows you to view videos made by other users. This section consists of a large number of users who recreate each other’s videos, changing their components to produce a collection of funny videos.
Also, a feature called cameo in Sora allows users to use their own images in videos. The release of the Sora application for Android is a good opportunity for users of this operating system to show their creativity on this platform.
The Sora app was initially released in September for the iOS operating system and in a short period of time it was able to reach the top of the list of the most downloaded apps in the App Store.
