The two companies Nvidia and Fujitsu Japan have announced that they want to work together in areas such as artificial intelligence and robotics.
The two US and Japanese companies signed an agreement on Friday to provide a bilateral collaboration with smart robots and a set of other innovations using Nvidia’s computer chips. Nvidia has just signed a similar agreement with Alibaba China.
Nvidia will also provide its technologies to other companies
“The Industrial Intelligence Revolution has begun now,” said Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia. “It is essential to build infrastructure to supply its energy, both in Japan and around the world.” He also said that Japan could take over the leadership of the world in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics.
Fujitsu and Nvidia are set to cooperate in making what they call “artificial intelligence infrastructure”. This system will be the basis of various future use of artificial intelligence, including in the areas of health, production, environment, subsequent generation calculations and customer services. The two companies have announced that the infrastructure will be launched in Japan by year 3.
The infrastructure will initially be tailored to the Japanese market and benefits from Fujitsu’s decades of experience, but may later expand to the global level and use Nvidia GPUs that are critical to artificial intelligence. The amount of the two companies has not yet been announced.
Fujitsu and Nvidia have previously worked in the field of artificial intelligence and have been able to accelerate production using digital and robotics twins and compensate for the shortage of workforce caused by the aging of Japan. Fujitsu CEO said the companies have taken a human -based approach to maintain Japan’s competitiveness.
